Perform and The FA are delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Kemp as the Elite Football Physiotherapist for Perform at St. George's Park.
With recent elite football clinical experience as Head of Medical Services for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Steve has over 12 years experience as a physiotherapist working in a sports environment. He has worked with football teams both in the UK and worldwide, including stints at Leeds United, Preston North End and Busan Icons in South Korea. He has additionally worked as a private physiotherapist with athletes from numerous sporting professions.
Ruth Paulin, Business Director for Perform at St. Georges Park said: “Steve brings an immense wealth of experience, tremendous enthusiasm and a passion for sports medicine to this key role. He will be a huge asset in developing the world class sports medicine, rehabilitation and performance centre at St. George's Park."
Dr Ian Beasley, Head of Medical Services at The FA said: "Steve is a physiotherapist that is known throughout the game. This and his interest in applied research in football amounts to another, big, piece of the jigsaw at St. George's Park that will take our game forward. We welcome him with open arms."
Steve’s appointment is yet another elite addition for Perform at St Georges Park and he joins an impressive team announced last month including Dr Charlotte Cowie as Clinical Director, Neil Fell PhD as Centre Manager and Jake Keeling as Business Development Manager.
