The partnership between Perform and The PFA enables up to three weeks of funded rehabilitation to PFA members at the 25,000 square foot facility at St. George’s Park.

Players spend four days of intensive rehabilitation at Perform while staying overnight at the Hilton hotel on site. They receive focussed treatment from experts in a wide range of fitness-related areas including physiotherapists, sports medicine doctors, sport scientists, strength and conditioning specialists, Pilates specialists and soft tissue therapists whilst working closely with club physiotherapists and individual players. James O’Connor from Derby County FC commented “The one to one treatment made a huge difference, it felt like there was no time wasted and the staff focus on the individual player’s needs, all beneficial”.

So far the scheme has been a roaring success, having served 268 weeks of rehabilitation to 140 players from 62 different clubs, as well as 14 ex-players and 31 who are out of contract.

Players who enter Perform’s rehabilitation programme experience some of the best facilities and rehabilitation support in the country. Perform concentrate on not only helping and guiding the players whilst in our care but also on giving them the skills and the knowledge to perform better when they leave St. George’s Park. England Womens Senior and Arsenal Ladies player, Casey Stoney noted “This was the best rehab I have ever experienced - and I have had a lot of rehab! Fantastic”

The treatment is available to all PFA members, including those in contract, ex-professional and retired players. The Perform sports medicine and human performance facility at St. George’s Park national football centre offers players the chance to continue on the road to recovery in fresh surroundings.
